Hopeful about our future
I'm hoping that one day, autistics will be considered as protected as any other "minority" in the workplace. I'm hope that we will one day be heard, have our own radio shows, have television channels, have a checkbox on forms, have accomodations offered by businesses, perhaps even have reparations for all autistics murdered in cold blood. I'm hoping we will find a medical community that no longer seeks to cure us but seeks to create new devices for us, wearable computing, better fabrics, more universal fabrics, more universal music. Technology in general already does a smidge of this but the prevailing attitudes of people get in the way. I'm grateful to have a job with a company that understands me and a boss who is also in the trenches with me instead of governing from a meeting room or ivory tower looking down. I hope that some day, we will have a community of the autistic, by the autistic and for the autistic.

Hey John,,
I found your blog through Nerals site..
I like your ideas..
I wish something could be done about the medical community and taking what we say seriously.. I mean in the respect of doctors having difficulty reading us. I guess I mean to say that when I am ill I don't seem to show the types of emotions that I should or concern and I come accross expresionless and clinical so they don't realize to what degree I may be in pain or suffering ..
The V person :-)
I hope for those things to.
